"Our company recently downloaded TrackStudio Enterprise
and we have been evaluating it for almost two months now.
I want to express our appeal for your product as being one
of the most feature-rich and well-designed defect tracking
products we have located. In addition, your staff in the
Web forum has been most helpful during our evaluation, even
fixing product bugs that we encountered during the process.
Therefore, we have decided to purchase TrackStudio Enterprise."
[Eight months later]
"Comments:
- The application is consistent. Once you figure out the layout (the top half of the screen is "where you are", bottom half of the screen is what you can
do with 'where you are', etc.) everything becomes very quick and easy to navigate.
- We like the hierarchical model. We also like that you apply that model consistently throughout all parts of the product. This makes it much easier to
scale our projects as necessary.
- We like the flexibility that you have in Filters. They can be private or public, and they obey the hierarchy just like everything else in the system.
For example, we can break our projects into subprojects and make specific filters for each one. Then we can use those filters to drive custom reports for
those subprojects, etc.
- The application is fast! Your caching system seems very efficient.
- We like that you use a nice DB abstraction layer like Hibernate (we are loving Hibernate). We had a need for multiple installations of the application
and we're using different database engines on each one. :-)
- I could go on, but you get the idea.
Regarding the UI:
It is clean and relatively easy to navigate. The layout is consistent and we like that. Also, the kinds of functionality you provide via standard Web
forms and Javascript is superb -- we are regularly impressed with the complexity being presented in some of your forms. Some of the forms take a little
getting used to, but I think this is a result of the complexity of the operation, not of bad form design."

"After extensive testing we decided to use TrackStudio as
tracking system for our company for the following reasons
(in written order):
- Accessability via web
- Price for unlimited user licenses and support
- Less time to come into the systems philosophy
- Hierarchical task structure to make branches of the tree invisible for users without fitting rights
- Hierarchical user management to give users the necessary rights, but not more than the parent user
- Powerfull user interface with possibility to configure nearly every aspect of the system
- Existing key features of a state of the art tracking system
- Scalability of the system
- Systems flexibility (categories and workflows)
- Very good support
We have compared the system against several freeware/open
source tracking tools as well as against some commercial
systems, e.g. [another popular issue tracking software] we
have tested intensively."
"It is a pleasure to deal with support the obviously has a passion for their product, not to mention a excellent understanding of the workings of that product. Hats off to you!"
"TrackStudio is a low cost and high customization change control system. With multiple workflows, multiple roles and a rich filter and notification tools TrackStudio offer a lot of tuning points to build a real representation of our business and development process.
The easy installation of the stand alone version, its open architecture and the effort and dedication of the TrackStudio human team assure a quiet, controlled and sustained system deployment.
TrackStudio is neither a closed application nor a finished one. Like real change control processes TrackStudio offer a open scheme and with a dynamic and near customer treatment the application is growing in the customers direction. We know where TrackStudio is now, we are planning where we like that it will be for the next release but today we can't imagine where it would be the next year.
About all the other things and more others I only can say that you are doing a big and excellent job. You are added more useful improvements and every day TrackStudio confirm that it was a right purchase for our company."
"My company (or at least my divisional group in my company)
has TrackStudio as one of its cornerstones for development
tracking. We use it as an extended bug tracker and repository
of documents and user requests. In a way, I've set it up to
act as a Sourceforge-like site, and so basically it's the
reference base for anything anyone might need to find out
about our software development project.
The fact that I say this means one very important thing:
TrackStudio is so dynamic, it can satisfy the needs of
many different projects. Its open-endedness allows for
almost limitless customization, and yet it comes ready
right out of the box, which is very convenient for making
quick solutions. If you're looking for a tool that you
hope will address several of your communication,
organizational and streamlining needs, I say look no
further.
There are a few snags though. If your company isn't used
to reporting in a workflow-based environment, the transition
to using TrackStudio can be tough. It'll require training
for the rest of your coworkers. Also, some aspects of
customization can be a bit tricky - setting up practically
anything is possible, but unless you're willing to get
your hands dirty in the source code (which they provide!),
some things just won't be available. The reporting system
is a good example of a template in place that doesn't
fully offer customization at the top level. If you want
charts, chances are you'll be generating a distributed
report and manually making the charts in the excel
export, or a UserWorkload report if you use the budgeting
feature of task reporting (it won't work otherwise).
I still wish TrackStudio would implement some things I
could use, but development on it is active and they make
good progress - in my 7 months or so of owning a license
they've gone through 2 or 3 upgrades, major and minor,
that have added functionality making it even better. And,
hands down, the best feature of TrackStudio is its customer
service. I have to say that without a doubt the service
you get with TrackStudio is the best I have ever received,
without equal. I have never gone more than 24 hours without
an answer to a question or problem I had - and the majority
of those within 12 hours. I honestly don't understand how
they do it, but then again I'm not complaining!
So even if it's not the application to solve every one of
your needs (and I know that you'll have a hard time
finding one that will!), I highly recommend TrackStudio for
its basic out-of-the-box functionality, its raw
customizability, and its development & support base.

"The thing that impressed me the most about TrackStudio was
the ease of deployment: We went through about three
environment changes between evaluating it and putting it
into production, and every time was no more than a fifteen-
minute job. No other product that I evaluated even compares
in that regard.
Apart from that, though, TrackStudio's interface is highly
intuitive, it looks great, and it functions as promised. I
would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-
quality issue tracking system."
"As head of development and programming I'm very happy to
use TrackStudio: two years ago I pointed out your product
as our tracking application.
We manage about ten projects with hundreds of tasks for
one hundred users.
[...]
Our maintanaince is very low on TrackStudio: no one problem in two years.
I give you our configuration: wintel box and SQL Server."
Alberto Santini, (organisation withheld)
"We are interested in the workflow capabilities (must) that many other
systems do not offer, as well as the need for a Java-based (must) tracking
system (rather than PHP or Perl) for intranet integration. Other interests
include Outlook/Outlook Express integration (must), Email-based submission
(nice), and the per-version/component/project rules (must). I've been
evaluating [another popular Java-based issue tracker] as an alternate
solution, but they are far from having the integration capabilities you offer."
"We choose TrackStudio simply because our search led to
you as one of the most comprehensive and feature-rich project tools."
"I have evaluated TrackStudio and absolutely love it.
It has by far the best layout, look and feel, etc. of
anything in the same application domain that I've looked
at. I plan on recommending it to all of my friends'
companies, etc. as the pricing is great, and the product
in my eyes seems unbeatable at the moment. Your product is EXCELLENT and as
I have said, I plan on recommending it constantly to
anyone who needs a good bug tracking system, and to try to
convince them to switch to your product from there existing
bug tracking software due to your superiority."
Daniel Blair
"I've searched all over the net for a easy and simple task managements
solution. TrackStudio was the only system that was reasonably priced and
the easiest to use."
"We are using TrackStudio for more than half a year now. It is a very good and fast tool with a very good price/performance ratio. So, basically we are very satisfied with the tool."
"TrackStudio has a lovely professional looking interface."
"Its browser-only approach enables true
cross-platform access for Windows, Apple Macintosh, and Unix desktops."
"TrackStudio is a powerful yet flexible issue tracking system aimed at keeping management simple even in large groups."
