Very Poor Update Performance

We are seeing substantial latency in TS when executing any updates. Reads work just fine, but any updates take upwards of 5 minutes to commit.

We are running TS 3573 on Tomcat 6. The platform is 64-bit Windows 2003 R2 SP3 and we have allocated 4GB to the heap(8GB of physical memory is in the server). We utilize SQL 2005 for the DBMS and this runs on a separate server. We see that the app server isn’t very busy – at any given moment it is averaging 15% processor utilization, low disk queues, and while the heap hits its max size sometimes, we see performance issues even when there is plenty of headroom left in the heap. We have also done traces on the DB and browser debugging – both seem to indicate that there is very low DB load and that the latency is on the app server. We have removed any extra user accounts and cleaned up our filters with no noticeable change. We have also disabled SMTP mail as suggested in other posts. Nothing seems to be working.

I need to know what tracing we can look at or provide to you in order to determine what is hanging up on the app server. Should we be running the Java Profiler and giving you the output?

At the first, please send me your anonymized database backup + how to replicate the problem.
