since we use TS in one case for the tracking of our hardware around the world, it is essential to search a lot in this database (and often during a telephone call with customers).
As far as I know there are two possibilites to search:
- using the box in the upper right corner
- using filters with "Full Text Search"
Each of them has a disadvantage:
- the search through the box retrieves results in all available tasks, so you need a lot of time to find appropriate results
- the filter-based search is very slow (selecting the "Full Text Search" in the drop-down-box takes about 25-30 seconds until you can enter a search-term and another 5-10 seconds to have the results (although this is a rather fast server, but we have a lot of entries)
so this procedure itself needs a lot of time.)
Our support department made the following suggestion:
It would be great, if the top-right box would search only in the selected category (and of course below in the structure). Since this frame knows, which category is currently selected, this should be no problem. But of course I see, that this is quite a design decision. Maybe it is possible to add a second box on the top right corner? So the first would search the complete database, the second in the selected category and below?
Or do you see another way of retrieving "filtered" search results in a quick way?
Best regards,
Flo
