Initial task assignment message

Postby victor » Thu Nov 20, 2003 5:05 pm

Hello,

Trying to define a filter (remember my problem trying to define a leader tasks filter http://trackstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=175) I found that it would be very usefull have a initial task assignment message.

That is. If I want to select all task that initially was assigned to me now I can to do it because is not an initial message that sign this.

In my problem: If I could define a filter that show all tasks (in depth) that were initially assigned to me I could track of this tasks that are handled by other people but that finally are over my responsibility.

Thanks

In TS 3.0 we already can do something like this. Messages are available in calculated custom fields for tasks, so you can select first message with handler for task and use handler's info for filtration.
But if handler was set within task creation process... Hmm...

I think that the solution is easy... when a user add a task and is assigned to a handler the system could generate a TS message with an internal code. Thats all.

I think that is irregular that the initial task assignment has not a message when all the others assignments have one.

I suggested earlier, that all changes in tasks (even tasks editing) were made by messages addition.

Yes, I agree, but if we'll create new message what message type/resolution should we use ?

TS could have a initial set of system messages. This messages would be in the same database table with the other messages and would come with the TS installation. They would be global messages didnt associate to none workflow.
