Issues with Attachments After TS4 Upgrade

Postby phancox » Sun Jul 25, 2010 5:06 pm

We are unable to access attachments after upgrading to TS4.

Appears that on the initial start after upgrading from 3.5.73 to 4.0.4, the attachments upload directory is restructured. The attachments appear on the task but have a warning marker beside them and the files are still in the upload directory. Upload manager button shows them with a 0 size.

However, if we upload an attachment under version 4.0.4, although it is placed within the same directory structure, the actual file name has been encoded in some way. For example "SchemaUpdate.log" became "402800b22a09b753012a09cb9c21023c".

Did we miss some step in the upgrade process?

Have you pointed right upload directory BEFORE upgrade process ?

Please check gr_property table, you should have property like "process_attachments" (don't remember name). Try to delete it and restart TrackStudio.

Yes. Note that the directory structure was reorganised on first start, however, the actual attachment names remained the same unlike for the upload after updating to version 4.0.4

Content of gr_property below. Is the UPLOADNAMES = fixed somehow related?

Yes, try to remove UPLOADNAMES property. It should modify attachment directory structure - it should be 2-level directory hierarchy, and file names should be GUID.

That seems to have fixed the problem.

The directory was already converted to 2-level structure on initial start after upgrade. However, after removing the property and restarting, files were renamed as GUID, property is now back as it was before with a value of "fixed", and everything appears to work.
