Subtasks in TS 4

Postby phancox » Sun Jul 18, 2010 4:12 pm

Just upgraded from TS 3.5.73 to 4.0.4 and have a few questions.

Many of the tasks that used to appear in the task navigation pane no longer appear. I thought this might be because they are in a final state and in TS 4 are no longer displayed, however, I tried changing one of the states to not be final and it made no difference.

Also the "Direct Subtasks" filter is filtering out everything at upper levels in the hierarchy. Perhaps it only includes a task if it is a direct subtask and does not have any subtasks itself? This is the only filter owned by admin and I believe was created when we first started using TrackStudio. If I log on as admin, it allows me to check the box beside this filter and attempt to delete it but it never gets deleted and no error message is shown. Should I be able to delete this filter?

The new user interface looks good but we're really strugling trying to understand why tasks don't appear where they used to.

You do need re-save filter "Direct Subtasks" again, i. e. go to the filter "Direct Subtasks", open "Task Parameters for Filter " tab and simple save.
Filter will work correctly.

Thanks. That fixed the issue with "Direct Subtasks" filtering out too much. However, I still can't delete the "Direct Subtasks" filter. Should I be able to or is it "special"?

Also the behaviour of the navigation pane remains the same as in my original post. i.e., many of a node's children are not displayed in the navigation pane but if I go to the task, the children do appear as subtasks. In the specific example I investigated all the "missing" nodes from the navigation pane were in a final state. Is this the expected behaviour? Can the behaviour of the navigation pane be configured to also include tasks in a final state?

You can't delete this filter, becouse it have id = 1, it's required for TrackStudio, but other filters you can delete.
To display nodes in the tree. you shpuld edit setting category. Go to the required category, open "Edit" tab. You see setting "Hide. "
1. Hide
2. Always show
3. Hide close
Press F5 to refresh the tree
