I was wondering if there were plans for allowing users to email a track studio server to initiate new bugs and tasks etc.

for example, proj-bug@someserver.com would start a new item under a project expecting email to proj-bug.

we currently use RT http://www.bestpractical.com/rt/ for this, but would really like a similiar feature in TS so we can apply your workflow features.

Yes, this feature currently under development and it should be available in the next release.
