Customized task fields

Postby victor » Fri Nov 21, 2003 10:40 pm

Hello,

Recently I am trying the customized task fields... I confess: I am a rookie.

I want to know the actual capacity of this tool:

- Can I define a customized task field to show the parent task handler?
- Can I do it expanding an Enterprise installation?

Thanks

No, now you can access only current task and you can't access messages or other custom fields from custom field due the security reasons. In the next version we'll improve security model and you'll can access to full object model from script.

What do you mean ? If you need way to expanding TrackStudio - check out adapters: http://www.trackstudio.com/documentation/Open_API.html

Also please check out http://www.trackstudio.com/documentatio ... lysis.html, it should give you some ideas how to use calculated custom fields.

In the documentation about customized fields I read this "In TrackStudio Enterprise you can use any classes in your expressions (including you own). To do that, you should change the class gran.tools.ShellClassLoader and add the classes and packages that you need.". And I am not sure about what offer this expansion of TrackStudio usen any classes in your expressions.

Thanks,

TrackStudio in default configuration does not allows you to access many potentially dangerous classes (for example, that can provide disc access or network access). But if you need some of them or you plan to use some your class (that get user email from LDAP, for example) - you can extend list of available classes.
