Creating and using a new workflow

Postby rkirk » Fri Dec 05, 2003 8:27 pm

I'm trying to create a new workflow but I'm envountering a problem. I have created the workflow and associated it to a new category but the new category isn't listed in the "Add new" listbox.
I have previously created a new workflow and this appears in teh listbox correctly. I've checked user permissions, the workflow is defined at the "root" project level - but not visible there either.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Possible, you should check "Can create" checkbox for that category in the "edit category" tab ?

---
After creating a category, you should go to the Edit Category tab and specify who can create, delete or edit tasks within this category. You should also declare the created category as a possible subcategory.

If you use hosted version - please tell me your login, I'll check your workflow.

Thanks, that worked - it was obvious once you pointed it out!

Now I have a slightly different problem. When I click on the main "Project" icon I get a "page cannot be found error". This was working fine previously and navigating around other parts of the system is fine.
Have I managed to corrupt some data? If so, how can I recover from it?

Thanks
Richard

It shouldn't. Database engine itself should ensure that all references is correct. TrackStudio also check and fix some minor possible problems every login.

The only know configuration that can cause (and cause) data corruption - MS SQL 2000 without SP, but SP2 enough to fix the problem (it should be applied before corruption, of course).

I've had debug on all the time and can't find any error output. I've even had the system administrator look and there appears to be no output. Is there a way of specifying where error output should go, the a specific file for example?

Thanks

We send logs to stdout, so its depends.

If you use sman - debug info should appear in sman window
If you use jetty without sman - it should be in stdout (you should redirect them to file)
If you use windows service with wrapper - see wrapper logs:
# Log file to use for wrapper output logging.
wrapper.logfile=log/wrapper.log
