Recently updated to version 3.5.27 to see if it fixed a problem we recently noticed in version 3.5.25

Our normal update procedure involves using "sman" to perform customisation (rather than directly copying property files from the previous release) and then launching for the first time under "sman". After the first launch, we then run normal production using "init.d" scripts under Fedora Core 5.

This time when we tried to test connection to the SMTP server under "sman" (no user/password) we received an authentication failure. In "/var/log/maillog" we see "[127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA". Checked and we see the same behaviour from version 3.5.25 We have recently applied a years missing patches to the Fedora Core 5 operating system so it is likely that the behaviour of the mail server has changed since we originally did the install of TrackStudio 3.5.25

Although this doesn't appear to interfere with launching TrackStudio from our "init.d" script, it does appear to prevent launching the server from "sman". Haven't had time to research the message but I'm guessing it means that TrackStudio connected and disconnected without doing anything. Can't understand how that would cause "sman" to have a problem though.

Found another message in /var/log/messages: "sendmail[12048]: All-whitespace username."

Not a major issue as mail seems to work OK when TrackStudio is launched via the "init.d" scripts, just inconvenient.

Have checked, but no ideas what exactly happend, decided to suspend it.
